Wow...im Inspired
Ok guys, im not sure if anyones noticed but i love my camaro but have been drooling on the v8s, anyways i know my budget will be allowing for "more play" soon so i started asking friends and family if i should go with a full out killer v6, or upgrade to a v8 down the line.
Anyways while i was on youtube, i came across this guy's vid I was pretty amazed. My brother has an 05 4.0 and shes outside on the driveway since my baby is in the garage sleeping but im going to show him too. Anyways i watched this guys vids and wow, i am very impressed, but im more Inspired then anything. Look at his vids and see the times hes pulling with that car. So my next question is, this guy is pulling really good numbers, but will our 3.6 be able to squeeze out comparable power safely? I dont want to end up spending more on my v6 to get number thats are bit better then an SS only to have built a far less reliable car. I have no knowledge when it comes to that and i dont want to start dumping money into my car if shes going to be able to be broken easily. Anyways who else thinks that pretty damn inspiring? All comments both negative and positive are welcome

Just from what I know about Leno's TT with 425 HP, there is a way to get the numbers! I just don't know what other mods GM did to it.... I read they used T3 turbos on it though. From other posts it looks like the fuel system can support up to 440HP before needing upgrades and with the DI (high pressure fuel system) that could get costly. The LLT does have a forged crank but I haven't seen anything on the rods yet. Also, starting at 11.3:1 compression could make timing and boost calibrations difficult.

sad thing is they have the ability to upgrade the injectors, which as will the tune, will play a major role in the success of this motor in the aftermarket world. im still hopeful however

Hey that's my friend Jenna!!!! She built that turbo system herself! And it's FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!
![]() I believe there are a couple of Turbo V6 4.0L Stangs in the 11's... Most are running the Powerhouse turbo setup... Powerhouse was getting like 400 RWHP on pump gas out of the 4.0L! I rode in the car... it was INSANE! LOL! I also have a friend who managed to get his 4.0L Stang into the 13s with just bolt-ons! (Lots of weight reduction!) So yeah... we've got a couple of hurdles... but not ready to give up on my 6! LOL!

The LLT has incredible potential. It will be capable of respectable power. Keep in mind that it will never catch a car with more displacement when the same parts are applied to both, but a heavily modified V6 has the same potential some of the classic V8s had. I think you should go for the V6 if you want to go this unique route.

The V8 will be more reliable PLUS it HAS a Guarantee !!!! I would say wait till you have the $ and buy the V8. I am going to wait for the Z28 to come out Hopefully in 1 to 2 yrs. & then order one. If they make one it will be over 500HP I would only do a few mods.to the V6 not adding more than app. 20HP, but that's just me.

You will catch a lot of flak for modding your V6, trying to make it faster... You need a thick skin to put up with "Just get a V8...." But the reward is a unique ride that will get lot more attention than just another V8... Yes, the V8s will be faster... but someone is ALWAYS FASTER... Take my V6 Stang... It got a LOT of attention... If I had done the same mods to a V8, i would not have gotten near the same amount of attention... yeah... the V8 would have been faster... but i'm a media whore and love the attention I got! ![]() Yeah, modding the V6 is the route less traveled, but I find it a much more enjoyable journey!!

at the bold statement, especially when looking at your avatar Yeah the killer v6 just seems sooo..........welll im at a loss for words ...compelling? lol Something about it, would be fun to see the look on peoples faces, especially when they underestimate it. lol like me, if anyone has knowledge on bodybuilding/strenghtening.. i have an Ectomorph body, fast metabolism and it is VERY hard to gain weight. So ive been at the gym for almost 3 years, friends go in and gain appearence results in a month or so. well i go into the gym, you can see people not caring, or making their "estimations" lol and then i walk over to the preacher curl, and start slapping a 45 weight to each side, followed by a 5 or 10, depending on how im feeling. I begin to start curling, and i begin to see peoples faces and attitudes change. So i know the feeling of being underestimated, and i find it very fun when i see peoples faces change when i show them what i got. Now i think it would be really fun when the sound of a turbo or supercharger starts changing peoples faces

TJ,
Don't forget these numbers from Graham: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...63#post1173863 This was his first dyno on the development car. He's not done yet, and there were no other mods done to this car besides the CAI and the supercharger with only 6.42 lbs of boost! |

Thats right around 425 at the crank ![]() that is encouraging but i have a question for anyone who might know. Why is it that the torque is so low? Is it the DI that has to do with it? Like i know my brothers stang came with 210 hp, but 240 lbs so it dawned on me as to why it feels so close to my camaro power wise (273) but jenna's stang is getting way higher torque then hp, 440 to the wheels i love the LPE results but im craving more torque if you know what i mean lol is there anyway to increase the torque output? Why is it that our cars have higher HP then tq? Dont worry Aby, im still getting those frequent flashes of Lingenfilter across my winshield ![]()
