Upgrading from stock 2010 SS stereo help

Hey all,

I have a 2010 SS 2SS with the stock radio setup. My car doesn't have a back-up camera and I would really love to upgrade to a touch-screen and also get a back-up camera put in. What am I looking at for parts/install? I'm hoping around $1k, but unsure.

Ideas? Or is $1k not close to doing this?

$450 or so. You need the face-plate kit. The kits are like $250, and you can get
a decent Android head unit for $200. I have an Eonon in my Mustang. If the Camaro
was not a work vehicle, I would put another radio in it. I am not spending $450
to hit a deer the next day...

That's not bad, good to hear! I looked at the PAC kit, but I'm not sure I like how recessed the screen is.

Get the iDatalink ADS-MRR2 and the KIT-CAM1 to replace the faceplate and retain your car's functionality, then invest in a Pioneer radio and the Pioneer rear cam. You don't need to cut or splice your wires as the kit comes with adapters and harnesses.

This should all be within your budget.

I'd like to chime in, and say if you dont need cd/dvd playback, look for Multimedia decks. they have a much smaller footprint and makes installing in these cars easier.

nothing cheap about the audio in the these cars if you want to do it right. i'm looking at about $300 for the install kit, and another $300-$400 for the head unit. i've already changed all my speakers, added a 5 channel JL M700/5, and a JL 10 inch W3 sub. I also sound deadened a lot, but have more to deaden when i do my head unit this year.

The thread you commented in where the guy changed to a Kenmore headunit looks like it would be a good idea.

Agreed! I just have to make sure I can hook up a rearview camera to it. I'm still in the initial stages of piece selection, so maybe the Kenwood already has that ability.

Post #18 in that thread shows the backup camera working so Id assume if you purchased the same items he did, yours would function the same.

I don't have a camera though! I need to do more research on cameras compatible with Kenwoods. I'm sure they make them, I just haven't dove into that yet.

Here you go.

Hope that helps. Those supposedly work with the HU in the other thread. If you look on the accessories tab for that HU, it gives you other options also.
