Lurches when Starting

Occasionally when I start my car it will lurch as soon as the engine fires while I still have the clutch to the floor. After the initial start the clutch and shifting feels fine. The clutch starts grabbing near the middle of travel as usual. This started happening a couple weeks ago.

Some background: 2010 SS M6 purchased new in June 2009, 223,000 miles on the car. I replaced the clutch with one from Monster Clutches at about 68,000 miles because the plastic bushing in the Slave Cylinder melted and I had the transmission out to replace that.

Any ideas on what would cause this issue?

Possibly air in the system. Next first start try pumping it a few times first and see if it still does it.

I hope you replaced it with the Monster billet bearing support like I did....otherwise with a plastic one again it might be melted again..... I would suggest a separate clutch reservoir like the one from a Holden which is what I run from diygen5.com than and regular changes every few thousand miles..... sounds like low pressure...cause weak pressure most likely filthy fluid heated and stained from the clutch as it shares with the brakes...IMO good luck

Yeah, Been thinking I should do the separate reservoir for a while now. I'll put it on my list of projects. Be a perfect time to flush-out all the fluid. And yes, I did the billet bushing from Monster Clutches when I did the clutch. It was a lot of work to do that job in my garage, don't want to have to drop that transmission again for a while.

Do you have the part number(s) for the Holden Reservoir?

The reservoir can be from a 04-06 Pontiac GTO as well. You can buy them at the dealership for cheap, 30bucks or so.

Check your fluid level. Try and bleed the system. But it sounds like the clutch is not disengaging completely. So it could be the slave or the master bleeding internally.
