Headers/Connecting Pipes

Hey guys, new to the Camaro world here as I just bought my 2014 SS/1LE a couple weeks ago. I've been reading and searching a lot on here about headers and cats. I've decided on either the Texas Speed or Speed Engineering headers. I see the Speed Engineering connecting pipes are out of stock until 10/12 so my first question is will the Texas Speed connecting pipes work with the Speed Eng headers ? Also, is there any disadvantage to going wtih the catless pipes other than smell ? I'm going to get a tune so the light will be tuned out. I see the Texas Speed headers with catted pipes are $300 more than the headers with catless pipes. Leaning towards catless since that would probably yield more power with a tune as well as being a lot cheaper. I also have a CAI and Flowmaster axle back. Thanks !

They’ll be louder as well.

Also from all I have read, not much of a power gain from catless to Hiflow catted, maybe a few but that's all. More sound for sure from catless and the unburnt fuel smell, but that's an "old school" thing. Either you like it or you don't.

I liked the unburnt fuel smell back in the day before ethonol and a million additives were in the gas. I remember going to the gas station and loving the gas smell. Its gross now unless your at a drag strip with some good old race gas.

The difference in catless vs. high flow cats with long tube headers is catless has more unburned fuel smell (already noted), it is louder and has more exhaust rasp sound to it (less refined and more just loud than muscle car loud), and the rwhp difference is 1-2 on a NA setup. You're not missing anything if you run cats or go catless. The main thing is sound and smell preference and if you'll need them to pass inspection.
