About to try to replace my ac compressor. Anybody got a nice DIY or any tips

Due to compressor complete failure? There could be debris in the AC lines and especially in the condenser. You can run denatured alcohol through the lines to flush the junk out, but there's still some risk.
Best practice to replace the dryer while in there. You'll need a vacuum pump to check for leaks and purge the system before adding new oil and coolant. Be sure you have the right type and amount of compressor oil. Do you have AC gauges? |

Don't over tighten the mounting bolts or the housing will separate and all your refrigerant will escape. Don't ask me how I know.
