AC issue...

I searched and searched....if I missed this, it wasn’t for lack of trying.

It’s rather simple. After driving a while the AC fan blows much less air. The air is still cold, but no where near enough air to cool off.

Here’s the troubleshooting

There’s no codes.

It happens on max or no max.

If you turn it off for 3-5 minutes it goes back to working fine.

Freon is good to go, no leaks

Compressor is fine.

Clutch is engaging. (As far as I can tell)

There’s no ice build up on the lines.

Water falls off as usual....small to medium puddle...like always.

I cleared the drain line myself and it’s good to go. Even has a new grommet.

The dealership and local ac “expert” seem clueless.

Thanks for reading.

Search for the blend door issue. It doesn't match your symptoms exactly, but you still may have some problem with it.

We have a truck at work that the ac freezes after it’s run for a while. Carried it to Ford. They couldn’t fix it. It works great at cooling..just freezes occasionally. Turn the compressor off for 5 minutes and she’s good, til it freezes up again. When it freezes it blocks airflow from fan. I realize this doesn’t fix yours, but we learned to live with it.

Hopefully it's not the blend door. I just got mine back today, thankfully it was covered under an extended warranty I have. They had to remove the windshield and the dash but they did a great job.
