Best Oil Filter To Use

I've been using AC Delco, and Royal Purple Filters, which are made by Champion Products in IL. Just ordered a RP on Amazon and it came in a smaller box, with the structure of the filter made of plastic, and stamped on top "Made in China". I contacted Royal Purple and sure enough in 2019 they switched to Chinese manufacturing, yet my price is still $15.50 a filter. Sending it back and looking for an alternative. Any suggestions? I'm leaning toward AC Delco and Wix. Don't want a plastic housing.

I used Wix and I'm very happy with it.

I’ve used Wix with no problems but, just recently went with an Amsoil filter as I run their oil as well.

I use Amsoil filters. Somewhere on here a comparison of filters was done. They cut them open and compared several popular filters. This was 5 or 6 years ago so it might be difficult to find.

I've seen the cutout filters up close. That's why I use Wix in all my vehicles.

I proclaim your search has now ended. Mobil 1 M1C-254A. Proudly made here in the US of A! About $15 at my local Autozone. GM was "kind" enough to install enough cheap Chinese crap on the assembly line so when I do maintenance or upgrade I avoid China made junk like the (Covid) plague. Your Camaro will thank you.

i use that or a k&n filter normally they come with a mobil 1 oil change special at advance auto.
i think the best selling filter in America is the fram. and you will never find one on my vehicles.
napa filters were made by wix i don't know if that is still the case.

As far as cheap filters go, every test I've read rates the Delco filter high and they comment on the number of pleats. I never get more than 1k before an oil change anyhow so it's been my go too.

Only the gold line of Napa filters are Wix. Other cheaper lines aren't.

When I had my LFX, I was just buying bulk WIX filters. I was able to find 5/packs online for a pretty decent price. I think it wound up being $7/filter that way.

Thanks just bought a Mobile 1 Filter at Meijer for $11. I'll also stock up on Wix as long as its not the Cellulose media. Purolator makes a synthetic blended media in their Pure 1. Might check them out as well.

Amsoil filter here with their oil. Went with Amsoil because only filter documented with 99% filtering efficiency at 20 microns particle size. Some claim 99% efficiency, but at larger particle sizes from 30 to 40 microns.

Although after viewing the below video comparison I do like some of the Wix XP features better (coil return spring vs stamped steel return spring, more return holes, cartridge pleating gluing) than the Amsoil filter which was identical in construction to the Royal Purple filter ...BUT I still like the idea of the Amsoil filtering at 20 microns.
