Cold Air Intake New York?

So i have a 2012 camaro rs v6, after looking at the forums and reviews, i realized that Cold air inductions are most likely the best for camaros. However, I want the perspective of those who live in New york.

As you know, the weather in New York is unpredictable, there can be intense rain or snow. I have no garage to store the car in but i will be covering it as much as a i can during harsh winter months. So my question is, should i get a cold air intake if i live here? Or can this weather ruin the intake thus ruining my engine?

I live on LI and most of my buddies own sports car with CAI. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of any issues with weather. I’m planning on getting the Roto Fab CAI for Xmas this year and I plan on swapping my factor one the next day. The only thing I can think of that might be an issue is for example an aftermarket hood or I think 14s had a vent. Not sure if those were utility or for aesthetics only but open vents might cause problems if water were able to get in the engine area. Otherwise I can’t really see any problem.

No issues with weather at all. Rotofab and cold air inductions are probably the two most popular.

You'll be fine, I've had one on mine since almost day 1, plus have the hood vent and the water never drains that way

I don't know anyone that has had any issues with a CAI, as long as it isn't a filterless pipe.

I live in Fl and have to say, this has been one of the WETTEST spring/summers we have had in several years and no issues at all with my CAI!! You will be fine for sure.. There is NO way any water or moisture can get into your engine unless you pour it in yourself.
