durability of cloth seats?

to you guys and gals who have had your cloth seats for a while: how are they holding up?

trying to decide between the leather and the cloth . . . yes I know the leather "has more class" but I think the cloth is actually more comfortable . . . but the leather generally holds up better over time . . . 6 months isn't long-term durabilty, but long enough to see if there are any real problems

Before I put mine into storage the seats are still like brand new. I have about 4500 miles on it. I plan on getting some custom seat covers for them anyway. Just in case of thing getting spilled on them.

Remember the leather seats are really pleather seats. The seating area is leather only. I like the leather seats but if you don't care for them they will not last as long as cloth seats.

cloth will hold up better than leather
shortly after you sit on leather, you will get creases and they will stay there permanently
in most cars with claimed leather seating surfaces, it is only where your butt and back make contact with the seat...everywhere else it is fake

i have a car with 42k on it with leather and it looks pretty creased up and worn more than the passenger seats.

i have another car with 72k with cloth and it looks like the day it came off the line.

my experience and .02

1SS with cloth, had the car 4 months, the seats look brand new. Cloth all the way, the pleather is way overrated

id deffinetly go with leather bud. i have vehicles with both and leather is way easier to maintain. i havent been in a camaro with cloth but im pretty comfortable in my leather. plus cloth hold a smell. whether its smoke or mcdonalds.. cloth absorbs!

Leather all the way. It looks nicer, smells nicer, and has "butt warmers" too.

Ahhhhhhh...

I'd rather had cloth in my 2SS. It does stay looking good. And leather does get crappy looking especially the drivers seat fast no matter how much you condition it. On the cloth I always scotch guarded them from new and every now and then and they always held up well in my cars. I'm real picky and very seldom do I have a passenger and it really looks bad after awhile to have the passenger seat looking as new and the drivers showing wear and wrinkles etc. and I condition them often.

Exactly the reason (one of 'em) why I chose a 1SS over a 2SS. I've actually never had leather, nor will I. But I've seen others with it, and after a few years it can really look worn, even from minimal use. Cloth, if well taken care of, can look as good as new much much longer.

I would say this is just my opinion, but I believe its the laws of physics.

(That being said, only 700+ miles so far here... but no wear )

I have leather and like it, but it does end up looking bad after a short time. My Sierra SLT had leather and the drivers seat looked like crap compared to the passenger side, and I only had 35k miles on it. They were not perforated like the Camaro seats though... maybe they will hold up better?

I've got black cloth in my 1LT very satisfied and I don't like slippery hot/cold leather seats.
