2014 V6 9.8 MPG! Terrible Fuel Economy!

Hello!
Two months ago I bought a 2014 V6 Camaro with 47k miles. The car is like new, the engine super clean, does not lose oil, the temperature works in 85 C º, all good.

But the problem it has is its exaggerated fuel consumption. With a full tank I only do 190 miles 40% highway and 60% city with little traffic (weekends)

I make it clear that I drive like a grandmother, I don't go over 2,000 RPMs and I'm not standing, I use it on weekends with very little car traffic.

I haven't used the car yet with a lot of traffic, the fuel gauge goes down very, very fast , and while I'm standing still it consumes a lot

My previous car was a 2011 V6 Camaro, I know very well what it consumes, and with this one I made 15 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the road, without mufflers.

The only MOD I think my 2014 Camaro has is a K&N air filter, where do you recommend me to start? I'm thinking about cleaning the MAF and changing the cone filter. I am concerned about its high consumption

Something is definitely wrong, I can get 14 in town with the tires smoking half the time. I've got a 14 SS, not sure where to start looking, but something is wrong.

usually you would throw codes if it was a sensor issue. does the oil smell like gas? does it run well? No skipping surging misfiring ect

Get a analysis on that thing and data log. It's as bad as mine.

It's already been through the scanner, it doesn't throw codes and the oil smells normal, it does not have misfires. Even the emissions mark is green, which is all right.

The iddle runs at 680 RPM, but when I use the AC it reaches about 900 RPM and sometimes even vibrates the steering wheel, very annoying. In my previous 2011 Camaro I was always in iddle at 680 RPM no matter if I use the AC or not

It seems that the car was stopped for almost a year and a half, since it was in a car sales shop, I don't know if it had anything to do with it. I already changed the oil but it still consumes the same or more fuel

Obviously its consumption is not at all normal. I'm worried because I can't use the vehicle in peace. It makes me very nervous to see how my fuel tank empties quickly without even stepping on the car

Damn homie. That's about the same as my Cammed LS3. I average 9.8 mpg (city driving only). A full tank shows me around 180-190 miles till empty.

How does the exhaust smell? Not sure how easy it is to smell a rich condition with cats still installed, but if it was that bad I am sure you would get a CEL. Do you have access to an ELM27 type Bluetooth scanner? You could use the Torque app or Dashcommand (or any of the dozens of other similar apps) to check your fuel trims and O2 voltages and get an idea what's going on.

You can get these type of scanners on Amazon starting at like $15 and the apps are free.

first go back to a stock air cleaner
Check to see if you have a tune
I've Heard a lot of bad things with the K&N air Cleaners

Yeah, mines the same motor and I get 22+. Shouldn’t need a tune for a K&N but that would be a good place to start.

Bad oxygen sensors and air filter can reduce gas mileage by up to 20%. Having bad fuel injectors will cause bad mileage. If there is a fuel leak of some sort, then less fuel will make it to the engine, and then in turn make it run less efficiently.

How did you calculate the 9.8 MPG? Are you simply using the display between the gauges? The reason I ask is because it's possible you don't have a stock tune on the car. Somebody might have tuned your car and accidentally entered the incorrect tire height. If you have a tune with a taller tire height than what's actually on the car, the odometer will be affected (and affect the MPG reading on the dash).
Speaking of tires...do you have stock size tires on the car? If they are shorter than stock, it will affect the odometer in the same way.

2011 is a LLT with a Bosch ecm and the 2014 is a LFX with Delphi ecm. All the cars that I know increase rpm with a/c operation. Regardless, that gas mileage is terrible. Monitor your oil level so your not gaining. Pull the plugs. Wet? Carboned? Worn? Correct? Verified stock tune? If plugs are different than stock, would make me wonder what the previous owner did. Stock MAF? Replace the K&N with stock air box. Is the torque converter locking up? Brakes dragging? Wheels spin freely? Fluids correct level? What octane gas, ethanol %?
Possibly use an injector cleaner or get an intake cleaning. Take a few quality pics with the engine cover off.

Man, I have the exact same model as you, color and all (almost the exact same mileage as well). I have all stock components on my engine, only with a catch can.

I reset my MPG monitor a couple of months ago and I'm getting 23 mixed MPG on premium (93) and driving regularly, so if your math is correct, you seem to have a serious fuel issue. You sure you calculated it right? Maybe forgot to carry the 1, or something???
