Question about power seats.

I currently have a 1LT camaro with the stock cloth seats. And i am thinking about buying leather seats out of a wreaked 2LT. So my Question is when i go to change out the seats will the power connectors for the power seats be the same And could i do the install my self. Or would i have to take them some where to get them installed.

check out the wreck, make sure plugs under the seat are the same (wax mold or comprable). unfortunately many car manufacturers do not wire all cars of the same model the same. If all is a match, installation should be very easy.

I believe that all the power seats are the same, six way for the driver and just the power recline for the passenger. Somebody will correct me if I am wrong. I think you could probably do it yourself if you had another pair of hands

His 1LT doesn't have power seats, just power recline which is why he's wanting to do this.

Before you get the seat, take yours apart first and look at the connections then when you go get the seat take a look at those connections. Some cars have a different connection for each motor of the power seat. If the Camaro is this way, then your 1LT will only have the connector for the power recline and not have the connectors for the other motors.

I stand corrected. I thought what he really wanted was the leather.

I am doing this for the leather, Not for the power seats. Paul SS is wright all the power seats are the same, six way for the driver and just the power recline for the passenger. I just wanted to make sure the connectors where the same.

Why not just by the leather that's on the seat? unless the seat shape is different. I see alot of takeoff leather for the SS on E-bay from time to time.

Jsut a thought.

Mike

Do you really want a set of used leather seats from a wreck that could have blood stains on them in your new Camaro?

Don't forget the 2LT also has heated seats. I'd wager the connectors are not the same.

That could change the configuration of the connectors, or it could just add an additional connector.

I'd also consider installing Katzkin or Classic Soft trim leather covers on your existing seats.
