3.27 is ratio for auto trans. Do you have auto or manual? Both are "6 speed".

Back when I was manual, I ran 17s with Hoosier slicks at 17-18 psi, launched at 1,800 RPMs and usually 60ed around 1.47-1.50.

Breaking parts when launching is usually due to wheel hop. Air pressure, RPMs, clutch engagement and the actual parts are involved. Not just air pressure. You can run high air pressure and spin off the line, but wheel hop usually comes at the end of spin. You can run low air pressure and grip well, but will probably stall a little.
Launching a manual is a delicate dance. I played with air pressure, RPMs and clutch engagement rate for a year before I got my 60' to a decent repeatable level.
There is no magic answer. Try different things and see what works for you.

Where did you go, Ennis or Ferris? Extreme has awesome prep, usually.

You should be much quicker 60' at your power level. Did you bog?

Going to Yellobellow was brave. Slip the clutch a bit faster and you will get into the 1.50s.

I have been to XRP many times. I moved out of DFW 2 years ago. Tried LV for a couple years. Drag racing there sucks. I live in Southern Mississippi now. We have 5-6 drag strips to choose from here. I should easily get into the 9s with the elevation and DA at Gulfport, MS this year.

Well, Went back to Yelllobelly for a event and did well... But the weakest link showed its ugly head.... Sheared all 3 bolt the driveshaft to the rubber coupling connecting to the diff.

Ended my night and that launch was going to be the one 1.58 60 got some help from a local from the track and picked up some bolts to limp it back home.

Tire pressure cold was 18 in both rears warmed up I think it was at 20~22 ish. RPM 3800

1.6 is impressive in a clutch car. Nicely done. Didn't know they made Bias Ply slicks in 18s.

If the plan is aluminum drive shaft. I would be careful. As the hit then targets the diff and seen/hear of a couple break the diff housing all running a alum DS. Carbon fiber seems to absorb the hit better.

Back on topic: I would consider going to a 17 inch tire to have more tire to help soften the launch. Maybe start looking for a 15 inch conversion kit.

Hard to not risk breaking something and still hit a fast et.
