glad to be back on the forum Brake job question for you

Hey guys,
good to see you never left, this is the sanest group of car guys out there!
So ordered R1 slotted Rotors Geomet series. It is a ss 2015 with 4 pots up front still never tracked only some autox events so far.
I will be doing a couple track day events/ include a 6hr round trip to do this, and a few spirited multi day rallies this season but that is it for driving for me just hit 35000 miles on the car.
My loaded question is what pad to get? I really don't want to experience Ice mode
not concerned about dust/ noise issues and hopefully can get a few seasons out of the rotors. Any ideas was thinking Hawk HPS but now unsure after my research. I would go with cooling ducts if they were available also.
Thanks all

I don't track but drive the car pretty hard sometimes. I used Hawks ceramic pads and was fairly happy, the car stopped fine, just nothing to write home about. Then I used EBC greens in my SUV and was blown away with the difference over the OEM pad (much better initial bite and overall stopping power). That made me switch to EBC reds in my G8 (from the Hawks ceramics). I haven't driven the car much since the swap but the results are very similar to the SUV so far. Just my .02

took a look, heard them mentioned before, the blue stuff sounds like an option will see who stocks them. I like the idea of faster pad wear over fast rotor wear

I have slotted drilled R1 as well and match with EBC Red Stuff and love them! Will only run these from now on.

IMO, unless you are planning to go 9/10 or 10/10 on the track, the OEM pad will work. Also depends on the track size and shape. If it's a short track with high speed braking zones, then upgrading your pads is a good idea. Long tracks are fine since there are sections for your brakes to cool down.

The most important thing is to do a complete brake fluid change and bleed using one of the top end DOT5 brake fluids. The Motul RBF600 or Castrol stuff (never can remember their name). Also bring some extra fluids with you.

I have a ZL1/Z06 on the front of my 10SS and I run NCM with stock pads and they are bite really good. I finally installed my Z28 duct kit and need to install the Gen6 track deflectors. Also bought a set of enhanced cooling ducts for the Z28 from pat_t in the Z28 section he’s from the UK and 3D prints them?
