Ontario Personalized Plates

Hey, for those who have personalized plates in Ontario I was just wondering how long it took for them to actually come in after you ordered them.

Here's the Ministry's website, it has all the info on purchasing of personalized plates. Half way down the page, it indicates 6-8weeks, after your plate selection has been approved.

Expect it to take the full 8 weeks at least probably 10 and that is assuming they don't find a reason to reject it. It took me 3 tries before they gave me mine, they rejected the first two "PNYKILLA" and "1 MEANSS". Put my first request in before the car arrived back in May, didn't finally get it until the first week of October

I used the last 5 of the vin in mine, so I needed the car first unfortunately. I ordered online and I see my CC has been charged. I can't see them questioning my request. No doubt, though, they are very strict about your plate can say!

They went over the 200 back in 2005.

CAMAROSS was gone - someone probably snatched it up as soon as they went to 8 digits.

Been over $200 for several years now as Frank said. If you don't get too cryptic with your message they aren't very strict (of course don't try to get somethign inappropriate.

I wouldve went this route until i realized how easy it was for someone to rememberize your plate and give you trouble. People have also begun to call the Police on you for no reason just because you have a nice car making false statements. Happened to my brother, also happened to a guy driving a porshe in Kingston, i know because i was in the crusier when we did the rolling block on him.

One reason why I don't use my name, nickname or what ever. I remember years ago I called in a traffic complaint, and the police did contact the driver and warned him, but it was my word against him and nothing more could be done about it with out any evidence.

Honestly, today, people are soo jealous, so much more violent. A simple mistake can lead to a person following you home, seeing your vehicle and remembering the plate and keying it in a parking lot.
I hope no one here faces that crap

I've had personalized plates for close to 20 years, they were a Fathers day gift from my sons. They were on my 93 GMC Safari when it was stolen shortly after I bought it, I know.....who would steal a minivan? The vehicle was never recovered but to my surprise I was reissued the same plates which could mean there are 2 sets out there with the same lettering.
