2010 camaro v6 a loser ?
Car and Driver has stated Chevrolet’s latest Cobalt SS direct-injection turbocharged 2.0-liter four-banger, Zero to 60 mph happens in just 5.7 seconds. The quarter-mile blows by in 14.2. The 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 in 0-60 in 5.8 and and quarter-mile in 14.4. Mazda’s 2.3-liter turbo four makes 263 horsepower and a class-leading 280 pound-feet of torque The Mazda hits 60 in 5.4 seconds, The Mazda makes history of the quarter in less time, too.
In a post in Edmunds insideline stated that According to Oppenheiser, the new 300-horsepower 3.6-liter V6-equipped Camaro will run from zero to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds regardless of transmission choice. The V6 coupe will cover the quarter-mile in 14.5 seconds with an auto and 14.7 seconds. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=129496 |

I guess my real concern is the camaros weight, its to fat for me. I read people that are going to practically destroy new camaros just trying to get the weight to go down. Also I would like to Know if any body has address this weight issue to GM and got some answers. I would like to see the 2011 camaros weight to be close to 3,000 lbs

I don't know why everone is freaking out about the times. Clearly GM knows what they're doing and sandbagged on the times. How would it look if they didn't and then had to come back and say, "Oh, it's not actually as fast as we said it'd be"? Then everyone complaining about it now would be really pissed. I'm almost sick of coming here because it's all anybody really talks about. How about this... we wait until somebody gets their hands on a production model to see what real-world times are like? Either way, LS3 manual - is going to be FAST, and will blow away much of the competition, as will the V6. Remember "Class leading" statements made by fbodfather. Just my .02. Now... and wait for |

Dare I say it...there is more to owning this car than how fast it will get to 60.
Seriously, if you want a bland, boring coupe that looks like damn near every other car out there, the go buy a Cobalt or Caliber or whatever Mazda you listed times for. When you go show off your new car to your friends, co-workers, and random people, don't expect much of a reaction. Why? Because those cars don't elicit an emotional response like the Camaro does. Who cares if the Camaro v6 gets beat by a 1/2 a second going to 60. If I wanted to stoplight race with everything out there, I'd buy the SS. |

Theres ALWAYS someone faster.. Who the hell would buy a V6 camaro TO race it? Well the Mustang GT is about 3600... The challenger is about 4000-4100 the charger as well.. EVEN the CORVETTE is over 3000.. Wieghing in about 3200 to 3300.. Or there abouts. Your dreams of a 3000 Lbs camaro is a Dream .. The V6 ISn't for racing its for cruising around in and looking :COOL You Shouldn't RACE on the street anyway! And at the track If you decide to bracket race you get a handicap.. So anyone can win. Besides all the cars you named that may be faster are 14 second SLUGS anyway.. And Anyone who has been in a FAST car knows 14 seconds is SLOW.. |
