The only thing closest to techno is Area and BPM...two of my favorite channels when I used to have XM

Lets be real, even on OTA radio there are only 2-3 stations I will listen to. The problem was in my commute I would lose these stations. I had sirius and was happy to have the stations I did and the signal was always strong. With XM the signal is weak in the northeast. This is the reason I probably won't renew my XM.

For me, all XM is good for are the comedy stations. Everything else is kind of meh.

I agree. XM is only good for 4-5 stations period. How many "Favorite" channel setups do we have in the Camaro -- 5 or 6? I can barely fill one "Favorite" list with XM.

Maybe my perception is partly human nature. We get locked into 2-3 music genres and aren't interested in others.

I consider myself to have broad musical tastes, too. Country #1, Rock #2, Blues #3, Bluegrass #4, Classical/Pops #5, R&B #6.

I'm betting not too many Camaro owners are into the "Pink" channel and other losers like it. Am I wrong?

Playboy Channel? I like *doing* rather than listening to others talk about it. Best not for me to listen to this.

Why couldn't the car have come with Sirius instead of XM? I won't pay extra just to get NASCAR, Howard, etc. In fact, I won't renew because it is XM.

Aren't they the same now? I mean, I know they have differently numbered stations, but don't they carry the same station overall? (legitimate question as I always hear advertisements for them as a combined entity on XM)

It's entertaining talk radio. You can't do *everything* while driving.

Plus you get all kinds of music that you'll never hear on FM radio.

You just laid down 40k on a car, but don't want to spend $3 more for some good stations.

They are virtually the same. Both XM and Sirius share a number of stations. But if you have one, you can subscribe to the "Best Of" the other for a couple bucks.

Yeahhhhh well... plus tax... plus registration... plus insurance...

Definitely check it out. I don't think it's well-advertised on the XM website. I had to search it out to get the details. But it's just a few bucks more to get the Best Of Sirius Radio added to your subscription.

Plus there's an option for I believe $2.99/mo (a little less if you have a longer than 'month to month' contract period) to stream XM/Sirius over the internet. 128k Bitrate. Pretty schnazzy if you sit at a desk all day at work, or you have a computer at home hooked up to a nice stereo system.
