After Burner Tail Lights Installed
Ok So i installed my ACCStyle Afterburner Taillight kit on this Saturday and i must Say that it looks BadAss
. Quite a scary process for the first timer. I did not make a Picture DIY because quite honestly i did'nt think I could pull if off. It took about 6 hrs start to finish and the taillight housings come out very easy, however the lenses are another story. What i will do is offer some great tips that I wish someone could have told me when doing this and made it alot easier. First Off heres a picOops heres a pic of the tail lights. Camera Sucks and it's cloudy but its the best i can do. Here are some tips that i learned in the process. #1. Dont be a *****! LOL ![]() #2. Instructions say you can heat to 150 deg and pry apart. i tried to use a heat gun but did not feel like this would get the job done in one day. Then I tried to score with a razor blade, yeah right ok not gonna happen. I would still be doing it now if I used that method. Remember theres 4 housings. I would highly recommend using a Dremel Tool with Plastic cutting Wheel. heres an important note that would have been nice to know ahead of time. The red lens is a cover that over laps on the outside of the housing. The housing has a ridge that fits up inside of the lense. So you dont want to cut too deep . And Follow the lines of the Housing when cutting the lense. There is a lot more room for error than you might think. Remember the bezels cover almost a quarter inch of the lense when its all put back to gether. Tape the lense so you dont damage or scratch it. The seam between the 2 is hard to distinguish. You only have to cut just enough of the lense and it will pop off just be patient. Oh Did I forget to tell you. FOLLOW THE LINES OF THE F**CKING HOUSING WHERE THE LENSE MEETS THE F**CKING HOUSING RIDGE .LOL. 3 of the sides are not so bad but one side of each of the lenses is slanted big time. This side you have to cut a little deeper. Forturnately I didnt screw up on the first one too bad, second and third ones were OK and the fourth I did perfectly. Who Freaking Cares Now! LOL![]() #3 The adhesive that comes with the LED's does not work worth a crap. I would highly recommend using a super glue gel or a 5 min plastic epoxy. You sure as hell dont want it falling off inside once its sealed up.#4 I used a clear RTV 100% silicone ran a bead and used a clamp to hold them. Each took about 3 hrs to cure. I did the 2 left side first while it was drying I did the right side knowing me I would have gotten them mixed up. I did not remove the excess silicone that squeezed out because you can't see it anyway and I know thats its sealed wherever there was excess. I Hope. Lol ![]() #5 Wiring was pretty easy except AAC STYLE only sent me enough wire splice Terminals for one side. So I soldered the wiring on both sides. Much better anyway.#6 i cut the low intensity wires on the bulbs per AACStyle recommendations and the afterburners become your rear parking lights giving it the afterburner look. I like just cutting out the bulbs instead of messing with the wiring to the harness. I'm very happy with the outcome. Good luck |

Its not so much the size, on my 24" widescreen anyway, but you need to put the image on its own line like:
Code:

I ordered a set for mine. I get them this Thursday. How hard was it to remove the tail lights. I added halo's to my fog lights and that was really easy to do.

Yeah I wish I would have asked but I still figured it out and all is well
The Tail lights are extremelyt easy to get out 3 screws one screw on each side is way back there but you can get it. you dont need to take off the bumper. Next is ythe headlight halos they come in in a couple of weeks. I think the bumper has to come off I have taken it off once before and its a real pain. I did some rewiring at the DRL now Fog lights too! And put some new ballasts and bulbs in before the P13s came around a while back. Any one got some tips ion the headlights for me since I didnt think to ask about the tails |

yup bumper has to come off. I put orange halo's in my head lights last week. The hardest part was heating them up to get them apart. But, it was worth it.
