Removed resonator today.

Well I had a wicked rattle coming from my exhaust, it turns out to be the resonator. There was a big chunk of metal clanging around inside it? I had it replaced with an x-pipe for $126 out the door. That leaves my cars cat back work at about $250 for the muffler delete, resonator delete and an x-pipe.

Also Im guessing the resonator weighs right about 20lbs. So its probably about a good 75-80lbs off with the Supermaxx headers as well.

Any difference in sound now that the resonators are gone? I have the muffler delete, but still have resonators.

a6. Idle sounds exactly the same. WOT is noticable difference. It doesnt sound raspy or anything. I was worried it would sound like hot garbage. I havent heard it in 4cyl mode yet, because its still deactivated on my car. I imagine it wouldnt sound that great.

I have an M6 and love the muffler delete. I like the popping, just not all the time. Just wondering if an X-pipe would make the M6 even louder or reduce the popping a little. Looking for any extra power I can get

It's good to know that it's not crazy loud. The cats are pretty good as mufflers.
I once gutted the cat on my 95' LT1 Trans Am that had a Flow Master. OMG, it sounded like I cut the exhaust off after the exhaust manifold. It did have more throttle response, but you wanted to drive about 100 mph in order to out run the sound a little bit.
I would like to see the inside of that huge L99 resonator (flow pattern)
