Anybody else having trouble getting parts?
I hit a deer 3 weeks ago. I had the car in the body shop the next day and it has been gone ever since. I have been talking with the body shop every day and they keep advising me that they are waiting on the right side headlight housing and a plastic air channel that goes on the right side of the radiator support. They say nobody has the parts I am getting really impatient over this and am wondering if anyone else is having problems getting their camaros put back together. I mean seriously they need to up production of parts so we can get our cars fixed.

I took my Camaro to the shop(Apple Chevrolet, York, PA) back in November, due to a muffler rattle, and I was told that something broke off within the muffler and that they would have to order a whole new muffler system. I'm still waiting for the parts to come in.

I feel your pain!!! Hit a deer 12/4. Still waiting on the drivers side headlight. The shop has fixed everything but can't put the front back on w/o the headlight. They were on shutdown for 2 weeks. I have a spac case and call GM and the dealer everyday. The have escallated it as high as possible. They say they are trying to get one direct from the supplier (in Mexico!!) or pull one from the line. Last I heard yesterday though (from an actual spac specialist) even pulling from the line can sometimes take 2 weeks! They are telling me it could be tomorrow up to 4 weeks!!!! Wow, talk about making planning impossible!!! I have complained enough GM is supposed to pay for a rental now, but its not the same!! The dealers won't scavage a light because you have to pull the whole front off the car. I've had the dealer do a inventory search across the US. Last week there were 2 in the entire US!!! Of course both were already sold. When I called those dealers though, the one said he had like 15 calls that week. Just mention parts for a 2010 camaro and they almost laugh at you.
Best of luck to you. Make sure you have a spac case and hound them all you can. Your dealer can push it if you push them. Have then talk to there GM sales manager. |

I feel you guy's pain also. I had a rain leak in my GTO flooding out the passenger side of the car and it has been in the shop for 31 days awaiting a carpet set from Australia!
GM used to keep more parts inventory. |

No loaner car can make up for the 5 - 6 weeks waiting for parts for a brand new car. Another week and the shop will have had possession longer than me!!!!

Especially if you are making payments on a car that you don't even have. I can understand a week, maybe even a week and a half. But seriously, 5 weeks? Maybe GM would pick up that months payment. (if you have payments) |

Tried that, I told the District Specialist I was not going to make payments on a car that they could not supply parts for that I had only had for 30 days. Her reply was that would be fine but when they repo'd it that would be my own problem. WOW!!!

My car has been in the dealership for 3 weeks today! waiting on a window motor. It decided to take on a life of it's own and even opened when the key was out of the ignition... I am so frustrated I can not believe it... Brand new car, Camaro no less, paid for, and I have no wheels... They have rented me a COBALT! Darn this is frustrating. Meanwhile I am paying for Onstar and XM radio and can not even use it... I so want to drive my new car! Oh, and I have lost a month's worth of warranty. How can they not get parts for cars on the street/sold and still produce over 4,000 cars a month? It is not right to ignor those who have purchased (paid for) Camaros which are on the road; Or in my case ...in the dealership awaiting a part to get back on the road. Every time I call I get the run-a-round!

I just got off the phone with the service dept. at my dealership and they told me that they have logged multiple calls to GM, which were recorded and go unanswered. They said that they do not expect any change until Friday, ...at the earlies!
