JBA bolt up shorty headers

Anyone have any idea what the hp/tq gains would be?

That header set is for the 3.5L Challenger/Charger/300.

mrray13 is TRYING go get his dyno'ed! Seems the shop has a car stuck on the dyno! LOL!

I'll be dynoing my car on Saturday... but depending on how things go I may end up just dynoing the JBA headers and tune together...

And actually for me the improved sound was more important than any increased HP! LOL

Ah... now I understand... Well, it appears to be the WRONG picture!

The site list it as part: CODE: JBA-1816S That is what mrray13 and I both installed 1816S...

Also... look at the stock manifold:

Look how close that outlet is! No way the JBA is going to fit in that space!

Sorry... for JBA shorties you have to cut the stock down pipe... And I'm guessing any shorty will have to do the same thing... the stock manifolds are just incredibly small...

Their dyno chart looks impressive, +14 HP & 13 lb-ft of torque?

That chart just doesn't make a whole lot of sense...

1) they list the base line at 235 HP @ 6427 RPM. hmmm... 235? Kind of low...

2) then they list with JBA 249 HP @ 6487 RPM... ok so 14 HP gain at Peak.. hmm... my baseline was 248...

3) then they say the biggest gain was 14 HP @ 5385... ok.. but that's basically the same as the peak gain... now look closely at the graph, especially at the 5300 RPM range... that gain appears to be much larger than the gain at peak! In fact that gain appears to be more like 24 HP... hmmm... which is kind of in line with the BBK LT... hmmmm...

I would say the hp gain would be close to 10 but not above 10... with the torque slightly under the hp gain.

A novice here and thought the gains looked to be on the high side but pleased with JBA's. I'm learning.

Hrm... well yeah, their baseline dyno appears low, but it all depends on the dyno used correct? We all know that dynos never really give the same HP reading across the board so I'm not too worried about that as long as the gain showed is true.

To me, at around the 5300 rpm range, it appears to definitely be more than 14+ HP, but definitely not 25....I'd guess around 18 to 20....but thats just me eyeballing and using my finger tips as measurement tools lol. Anyways...as far as Im concerned, even if their claimed gains are true I'd be happy with that!

scrming...you do what you want to do on the dyno, but one with just the JBAs, and then another with your tune would be excellent!

Okay, they finally got the 3rd gen off the dyno. At 9psi, it finally made 500rwhp and just over 550rwtq!! It's a friggin beast, lol!!

That said, by the time they got that done, I got no dyno love. After work tomorrow, 2pm, I am supposed to be on the dyno, come hell or high water. I will get them dyno'd!!

Now, to the OP, like scrming stated above, teh OEM manifolds are so short, any "shortie" header is going to require some fitting. In the case of the JBAs, that means about 12" of pipe, maybe 10", I'll go measure soon, is going to be cut off to allow a header to fit. After welding on the "stacker flanges", as JBA calls them, you will have a set of bolt in headers. Just don't plan on going back to OEM without some work, lol.

Hmmmm, I hope we get 13ftlb of torque!! That would be awesome! I know by butt dyno, it pulls harder then before.

Yeah... the thing is flashing the car back to stock is going to take a good 20 minutes or so... So I will start with the Trifecta tune in the car... we'll get some good numbers... then I'll see what Lidio thinks as far as keeping the car on the dyno while it flashes and then having to do more pulls... basically going to play it by ear...
