Rack and pinion problems

Hey guys I have a 2010 Camaro SS, I had my steering pump, lines and rack and pinion replaced back in February. I started to get a whine and shuttering so I took it back in, they ended up replacing the rack and pinion again, said it was leaking and covered under warranty which I was surprised. But they told me it would take 2 weeks to break in and how it had a lot of air in the system. I don’t drive the car very far, I live close to work so I probably put 8 miles a day on it. But it still will occasionally whine when turning and some times it feels like the power steering isn’t engaged at all because I will have no power at all like there isn’t a fluid being pumped. I don’t know much about steering and suspension but this doesn’t seem right

Sounds like you may have gotten a bad pump. I'm not sure but I don't have any problems like that with mine.

It could be air, but they should have worked harder at getting it out before they returned it if it is. I would take it into an empty parking lot and drive it turning lock to lock, or jack the front end of the car up and work it back and forth.
