Check Engine Light codes P0171 and P0174 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi there, I have a 2011 Camaro SS with 59595 miles and my check engine light came on and I pulled the codes P0171 ad P0174. I checked the engine for any vacuum leaks and found that my Spectre Cone air filter was partially off due to the plastic around the edge crumbling so I went and purchased a new air filter and installed it. I thought that the check engine light would turn off but it is still on and I have driven it a few miles today, could it be the MAF getting dirty since the air filter was not on all the way and allowed unfiltered air to get in? Can someone tell me how long after i repaired the issue should the Check Engine light have turned off? I am going to clean the MAF sensor and Throttle Body this weekend just to make sure but for sure it seemed like it was the air filter since it was not on fully that was the issue but apparently not. Any ideas?

Some DTC will not self clear. I don't know about your particular codes. Most readers will clear the codes.

Disconnect the battery…it resets the cel
