l99 transmission tune problem
Hello from finland. Forgive me for my bad English..
I have 2010 ss. My car engine upgrade is: btr vtt cam stage 2 , bbk 1 3/4 longtube with cats, heartthrob exhaust(2,5 inch), kn cold air intake and Chevrolet Performance 88958758 heads. Dynotuned in finland, 432 whp. Stock converter, and stock gear. Last weekend i tested first time in strip. Best is 12.9s/174 km/h. Transmission is strange. This is a big slowdown! 1 and 2 gear is fine. When the transmission shifts to third, it comes on like a limiter. It switches back to second gear and then the switch to third gear succeeds. I tried 6 times and the same every time. Also in Burn out. There will be a "limiter" third gear. In daily driving everything works just fine. The transmission tune is a ready-made tune from the hp tuners forum. switching time approx. 25% faster, and transmission oil pressures approx. 25% higher. The torque limiters have been removed but someone is wrong transmission tune. Thanks! |

Are you using the shift pedals on the wheel, or letting it shift by itself?

Letting itself. Doing the same d and sport. I didn’t drive manual selection, i thought I was slower with it.

You will have to do data logs to see what the tranny is doing or seeing. My guess would be the 2-3 solenoid is bad.

We read fault codes today. Was not. A solenoid would probably leave fault codes. I think. I should try to get live data or return the transmissions tune to stock.

Yes. My friend has hp tuners. The car is also tuned in a dyno with hp tuners. Sure, it’s done by a better professional man like me or a friend of mine. Finland are only two man that tuned these cars in a dyno.
I can't download hpt data here. Here's a link where they should be found. I also posted the problem on the hp forum. https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...r-in-camaro-ss Last edited by FinlandSS; 09-07-2021 at 11:59 PM. Reason: increase |

The situation is pretty much the same as traction control / some limiter would go on. Both.( In Burn out and in full throttle acceleration. And only 2-3 gear.) Of course, I have switched off traction control and stability control. Today I am trying to test without those fuses..

I tested this morning on the street. if i have about 95% full throttle everything works fine.2-3 gears shift .work great I also tried removing the fuses 40 and 43. The only change was burn out would not work at all. The engine does not take rpm if I press the brake pedal. I put the fuses back. Traction control of and burn out is ok. In the first two gears.

Trans tune
A issue you may be having is the tune file you loaded didnt match your x and y axis table. Could be throwing thing off.
Id reload stock file back and due tune from their. If you do compare you'll see.

Stock Converter. I like to keep my car easy drive for daily driving. Rear tyres is 315/35/20 I think shifting rpm is now good. Maximum power is 6306 rpm, maximum torque is 5310 rpm.
I would be to change gear ratio 3.91, i want to keep stock converter. You mean to return the stock tune to the transmission. If I remember right, the transmission tune is not camaro. I guess there is an s10 pick up with the same engine, transmission upgrade. Last edited by FinlandSS; 09-09-2021 at 02:24 AM. Reason: mistake |

What ever file you used or copied into yours changed so one colum has setting. Say 2200 rpm then in same row the file you used changed that colun or row to 2450 just used that as example. Look at your colum and rows youll see the differance. Main thing if your download use a file make sure same year and model.

Thank you. Must be reset to stocktune for the tranny. There is no one in Finland who understands tranny tuning.. If there was a good tunedprogram for the transmissionn I would to pay something.
