Thoughts

I would like to sell my Camaro that I bought new, I just don't drive it enough. It is a 2010 1SS/RS with about 4,000 miles Aqua Blue Metalic with the six speed manual transmission, located in central Wisconsin. What would be a realistic asking price, and would local or national advertising be better.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and opinions.

Prices are still high. Lots of members here have done pretty well selling to online places like vroom.com. Relatively easy with no advertising headaches, scammers, or mad dog killers.

Online vehicle merchant, not unlike Carvana. If you're looking for a quick buck, they make it easy. You lose some profit, though.

I'd try selling locally, first. Pull up the prices of comparable vehicles in your area to get a gauge on how the market looks. Price it a little high at first and then drop it over time if need be. It's a seller's market right now, for sure.

I just bought mine in rural northern michigan where a CLEAN camaro is hard to find. Mine was a 2012 SS/RS vert with 26000 on it and he wanted 30K. got it for 27.5 and feel it was a fair price for a car this nice way up here. So i guess what Im saying is ask 29 and see what you get offered...

I checked locally, there just aren't many Camaros that age, and none with that low milage.

I just looked online in your area (within 100m radius) for 8 cylinder manual coupes around that year. I found the following (it's just a subset of results). It's a wide range of vehicles, so try pricing it somewhere within those ranges as you see fit:

2010 Challenger R/T, 50k miles, $22k
2011 Challenger SRT8, 4.5k miles, $43k
2014 Camaro 2SS, 17k miles, $34k
2010 Camaro 2SS, 21k miles, $27k
2010 Camaro 2SS, 4k miles, $31k
2010 Camaro 2SS, 14k miles, $27k
2010 Mustang GT, 83k miles, $21k
2015 Camaro 1SS, 19k miles, $32k

and it also depends on how much you WANT to get out of your car. If you want to sell it fast or not. Pricing will help that process along if youre looking for a quick sale, low ball your price. Check to see what vroom will give you and that will give you an idea if you want a hassle free sale, sell it to them, if not, put it up for local sale.

The lowlow miles and eye catching color would make his popular on

I dislike person to person sales. Too many scammers and joyriders. Local advertising like craigslist is an example of that. Ebay has gotten worse through the years also.
I would rather just trade it in or sell it to e.g. carvanna.com or vroom.com or carmax.com or a local dealer that buys used cars and possibly lose a few thousand than have some joyrider wreck my car or steal it. You can simply plug in the car details on the websites and know what they offer you without leaving home or getting the typical dealership hassle or hustle it should be called.
If you do ebay or craigslist type sale be on your toes and don't ship it until weeks after the funds have cleared and all that scam avoidance. I was in the bank earlier this year when a lady was trying to get her money back, many thousands of dollars, via a scam they sent her a check that deposited and she sent them money. Weeks later the check the scammers sent bounced and the bank wanted their money back she withdrew. The lady blamed the bank for clearing the check and allowing withdrawls but it doesn't work that way in real life. She was out big money she couldnt afford. Word to the wise.
Edit: IIRC it was a fake cashiers check. The bank took it and processed it. The days of being safe by only accepting a postal money order or cashiers check are long gone. Might as well have been an IOU written on a napkin.

Scammers and idiots are avoided easy via common sense.

I would get an offer from Vroom and then try to sell it locally for few grand more.

If you don't get any offers quickly, default to Vroom.

There is no need to be so paranoid of local buyers unless you are inexperienced selling on Craigslist.

You won’t have any problem selling a 4K mile LS3 ABM locally I assure you of that. You don’t see many ABM’s still for sale in good condition. Hell you really don’t see ABM much anywhere, the production numbers are so low.

You should be able to get around $30,000 for one with that low of mileage. Hell, if I had the money, I'd buy it for that. I have the opposite problem you do. I drive mine too much. At 253,000 miles, my 2010 ABM 2SS M6 is getting a bit worn-out.
