This may be a dumb questions, but can you run rear 18 inch race star wheels with stock front wheel combo???

Yes. A square setup is best for tracking. Skinnies up front and fatties in the rear are best for drag.

Your question is a bit obtuse. Legality? Tread? Wear? Grip...on dry, damp wet surfaces? Cornering? I was talking handling. Grip depends on the compound and tread. I have 17's I use on the street. But at their cost, I really only want to use them on the strip.
As long as they're not slicks, you should be ok. And you're legal if they're DOT rated as such. The shallower and lesser amount of tread, the more you'll want to avoid any water. |
