Great company. Just a pain to get out the front swaybar! I now know why people cut the bar to get it out. Are you going to retime the bushings? I Asked DSE, and they tought it was not necessary.

As best as I remember from old posts, it was mentioned on other threads that when the car sits at its lowered position vs stock that the control arm bushings are "tweaked" and preloaded with tension rather than in a neutral position. It was suggested by some to loosen some bolts ( search threads) once car is lowered and weight is back on the 4 tires. Drive SLOWLY a bit then with the weight still on the tires torque the bolts to spec. It was mentioned that when you get the post lowering alignment have them retime the bushings then.

January 2010 issue of "Camaro Performers" has a great article on the Detriot Speed suspension upgrades on an SS. Personally I went with Pfadt.

Did you get coilovers or just springs and a sway bar kit that require cutting the bumpstops?

I'm considering Detroit Speed and Hotchkiss as I want a package that is a little more streetable than options from Pedders. Let us know your thoughts as soon as you get this on. BTW, love the sig pic!

As I recall it's only necessary for the stock swaybar bushings. If you install lowering springs only... when you lower the car's ride height it creates a "preload" effect on the swaybar bushings. To "retime" them, you loosen the swaybar mounting points a bit as well as the bushing mounting points a bit, and put the car on the ground and drive it around the parking lot slowly. Just to force the weight of the car around a little to get the bushings back to "neutral".
Then throw it back on the lift and cinch everything back up. To my knowledge this is not necessary if you are replacing the swaybars and bushings.

The DSE suspension kit is a all around great suspension kit. It's a perfect balance of ride quality and performance handling. If you want to go autocrossing on the weekend or take a cruise on the twisty roads or just taking your wife out for a nice dinner, this is the Best kit on the market.
