To strut brace or not to strut brace
That is the question.
I'd like to hear from the people that have added the strut brace to their 6gen, not tracked, Camaro. Does it handle better? Can you feel much difference? Was it worth it? Specifically interested in the SS.

Put one on my 18 SS1le just for looks. Alpha platform doesn't benefit at all unless its a convert.

I would have done it for looks (expecting no driving improvement), but it wouldn't fit on mine.

My neighbor and I have both talked with the techs at BMR (didn't know each other called at the time). The tech I talked to, idk if its the same 1 he talked to or not, said the way the 6th gens frame is and the bracing it has, a strut tower isn't needed. He said he would gladly sell me one if I got money burning a hole in my pocket, but it wasn't needed. Neighbor got the same answer.

I drove for a year with no mods (2019 SS). I added the strut brace for looks. I could not feel the difference in handling at all... it does look good though! The same is true for the cold air intake I added. I liked the look of it, I can hear the intake but I did not notice any difference (even after the tune) in performance. If there is a performance difference for either the strut brace or the intake it is miniscule to my non-professional hands and opinion.

I had it on mine but I had to take it off once my lt2 intake was installed. It rides smoother now but then again I lowered mine.

If nothing else it blocks the stupid placement of the fuel line over the engine cover.

The strut tower brace might not really make that much difference on the Gen 6, but at the same time I don't think it hurts.
I've added strut tower braces to several of my cars and I think it does make a slight difference on some vehicles.

Just saw a Youtube video recently titled "Camaro ZL1 1LE ultimate track prep guide!!" where the guy put a strut tower brace.
Having read related threads here on how it's not needed on ZLEs, I was just thinking "but why?" It's puzzling that people make random (performance-purported) changes to their car without first trying to gain a baseline at the track... Seems that money would be better spent somewhere else Of course, it's fine if it's for looks only, but then don't title a video as "ultimate track prep"... Geoff |

I spent a bit more time going through that Youtube video I referred to above, and overall it does seem pretty informative, so maybe I was being a bit too critical of the guy
And he did admit that the BMR brace bar he put on was more for bling than anything haha. I suppose we're all guilty of that from time to time : Geoff |

I think the two braces that run back to the firewall are pretty stout. I think the strut bars are mostly about the appearance.
