Ram Air Hood VS. Heat Extractor Hood

In my opnion, your hood is one of the main things that sets the look of your car apart from others.
As far as functional hoods go, what are your thoughts on keeping your under hood air cooler?

Ram air hoods are typically functional when they are tied to the intake system. Therefore your under hood temps would not affect the air going into the engine. The limitation with ram air is unless the car is moving...there is no air being "rammed" into the engine.

If it's just an open slot then I'd think it would move the air pretty good when moving but again, when sitting idle little if any.

An extractor hood will release underhood heat thru the vents/outlets...again though, with the car sitting still there is little if any heat getting out as the pressure from a moving vehicle is what "pulls" the air thru the vents/outlets.

Two different functions in my mind...but if you are worried about underhood temps, an extractor hood will pull the air out where as a ram air hood (if hooked to the intake system) would not.

Thank you, good information to help make my decision!
