Tow hook durability
Wondering if anyone can clarify what the durability is on a tow hook. I know on a flat flare it's fine, but how bout getting pulled up a tow truck? Last thing I want is to install 1 and the bumper gets ripped off.

Man, to read this title, it made me think a tow hook is a daily occurrence in a Camaro. Whew!

If mounted properly it won’t come off. I bought the one from ZL1 addons and it mounts through the bumper support. Very strong

Considering I've had the car towed 3x in the past year, it's kind of a requirement for me. 2 out of those incidents was on a grassy/rocky side of the road, and there was no way a chain or hook could've gotten underneath. My cars low, and has an extended front splitter.

+1 on the ZL1 Addons...good tow hooks bolt right to the crash bar so they are safe.
Here's a few pics when I installed mine on the front, but 2014's and up are probably even easier to install since you don't have to remove the front bumper. The rear receiver mounts behind the license plate, so just remember to keep a screw driver in the glove box. |

On the 5Gen the tow hook gets drilled into the crash bar. It's a bit of an install - not hard, but as long as you install it correctly, its not going anywhere.
