Usual Timeframe Order to Delivery
In the general forum I mentioned I might order a new Camaro. In general, what is the time frame from order to delivery on a Camaro? It's been 13 years since I purchased a new car and that had already been ordered by the dealer.
I had ordered a 2016 GMC Canyon but I didn't take delivery. I honestly don't recall how long it took to arrive and there certainly wasn't the same kind of supply chain issues we're seeing now a days. Thank you all very much. |

YOu should put 12 months on your calendar and hope it's less than that but it's not likely. It would absolutely depend on that dealer getting allocations from GM for the car that you want, and then too, how many orders that dealer has in front of you for that model of car.
Twelve months is realistic, there are some that go less than that, and some go longer. For a few reason I had a 21 on order for a few months, and gave up on that. Ordered a 22 and never got that either. We converted that order over to 2023 and got my car about 5 months later. |

Which trim are you ordering, that plays a significant role as well. If you are looking at a 2SS or ZL1, it might be more than a year. If you are going with the other trims, it might be shorter.
Overall timeline depends on several factors (major ones - how quick you receive an allocation, vehicle not stuck with logistic issues) and you can get in 6 months or wait for more than a year. If you cannot wait that long, you might want to keep an eye on the incoming inventory and constantly reach out to dealers to see if the buyer fell through and the vehicle is available for sale. |

Is a 1le or lt1 trim more likely to go any quicker through production?

If you read around on the forums, it looks like LT1 and 1SS take 4-6 months and 2SS/1LE/ZL1 take 6+ months.
If you order one be prepared for a long, but worthwhile, wait. |

The LT1 has much less content sensitive to current supply chain issues, so it should get delivered quicker than a 1SS 1LE (and even more than a 2SS 1LE or a ZL1 1LE).

Ya you load it up with electronic options and higher end models you're stretching out the likely wait times.

Honestly once you get the allocation , things go pretty smoothly for the most part. Your longest wait will be the allocation. Like other said this will depend on trim and options. The dealer you place an order with might not get an allocation for a SS model for say 6 months, then you have 3-4 months of processing, build, and shipping. I personally placed 4 orders at different dealers around my area. Once one of them called with a allocation, I cancelled the others. You can also go to Chevys website and look at incoming inventory to dealers within a certain mile radius of your location.

I placed two orders: one at a closer dealer to my house, and one at the largest volume Corvette dealer in Pittsburgh. Whichever gets an allocation first will be what I stick with, but if neither get an allocation by spring, then I may just forget my orders and walk away. All depends on your own desires and preferences, really.

I'm thinking of ordering a convertible LT1 with 6spd manual and Recaro Seats, and a few other options. You think big time dealers have more allocation or name recognition? I belong to the NCRS and Rick Hendrick Dealers used to get some sort of benefit from cars being purchased from them. Might not hurt to mention my father has done some work for Mr.Hendrick through the NCRS.

I would honestly do a detailed search to look through all the LT1 inventory on the ground. There are several LT1 Verts at a local St. Louis dealer that are 3k off MSRP. There is more availability on the ground right now to find tthe specific options you want.
There are several in South Florida. https://www.chevrolet.com/locate-inv...tTypeCodes=AQJ Richard Sent from my SM-F936U using Tapatalk |

It’s about the dealer & allocations. My order was placed mid September, picked up first or beginning of second week of October, ETA to the dealer is next week. So just short of 3 months. I had a 2022 Redline Edition prior, I ordered it December 13th 2021 and it was delivered by the end of March so about 3 & 1/2 months. Different dealers on my two orders but both had allocations within a month from ordering.
