All three are very closely matched. With me behind the wheel, I'd definately say the L99 is faster.
![]() A race between these cars should come down to who gets the better launch off the line. |

My dad has a 2009 Challenger SRT8 and I say he is a better driver than I am....I seem to miss gears every so often...
But my 2010 Camaro RS/SS manual has never had an issue with my dad's 2009 Challenger SRT8.

The manual SS (LS3) is faster than the automatic (L99). I was comparing the automatic SS (L99) to the SRT8's.

If you go look at the 1/4 mile runs, the Autos seem to have an advantage...

Give it some more time. The Chargers have been going to the track for years (Many winter seasons to build 1/4 mile times). The Challenger is pretty new to the game like the Camaro (not much opportunity to hit the track). I'd like to see the list of the top 12 stock Challenger 1/4 mile times from a Dodge Forum? Lets see an actual 1/4 mile list (not magazine times) from a Dodge Forum showing stock Challengers trapping 109mph. |

I would give the advantage to the camaro. I have seen a bone stock L99 run a 12.9, it was impressive.

There has been stock srt run in the 12 s depend on Da and driver.I would say its a driver race. The srt has 25 hp advantage, but the ss has 300 lb so pretty close..

It would be a driver's race. However, given maximum potential of the cars being reached, the L99 would win.

The L99 is an LS3 with cylinder deactivation maybe something else but the engines are very close less horses because the auto loses more in the drivetrain than the stick. Its a drivers race w just bout any of these auto or manual.
