2010 SS Exhaust Brace

Hi guys. I figured I’d try here as most of you hang out here vs the smaller sub forums.

I cut out my suitcases and installed Flowmaster axle back this past weekend. I noticed something when I cut off the suitcases. The brace underneath the resonator, is it supposed to have some sort of rubber bushings? Mine doesn’t seem to, just metal to metal. No one has touched this car, whatever it is, it is from the factory. I bought it with 7,400 miles, literally bone stock

Just struck me odd the there wouldn’t be some sort of sound dampening/rubber grommets, etc.
Here’s a pic for reference, not my car, but from the internet. Thanks in advance for answers.

No rubber, just metal on metal.

Yep, no rubber. And that is your "stock" trans tunnel brace. I upgraded mine to the BMR unit as it dropped down some in the middle to clear my 3" exhaust tubing and 3.5 inch Aluminum 1 pc driveshaft..

Lol. Yea I did the "washer" thing as well before. Didn't like the look of it, so I did the BMR one because it looked a lot better from under the car. You know me, it's gotta look good or no go!!

Thank you gentlemen. It looked to me like it was missing something, but I guess it’s normal

So I pulled my brace due to a faint noise I was hearing when going over certain types of bumps after the car had warmed up. Sure enough, the resonator was rubbing on the brace as pictured above. Eventually that factory crap will go into the trash, but for now, it’s washers
