What is the general opinion of power limit on stock internals?

It all depends on how hard you beat on it. If it's an occasional track car and you don't beat the hell out of it, it should last a very long time, if it's tuned well. You can wear out a stock engine if you beat the hell out of it constantly.

It all depends on your flux capacitor

The LS3 is a real strong motor, with minor upgrades to the internals you should get quite a long lifespan

A few Lsx engine builders and tuners have always told me that its actually the rod that goes first and not the rod bolts.

The weakest parts in our engines (in most engines) is the piston pin area. It is the point of highest pressure and once there is the slightest oblonging of the hole, it quickly self-destructs due to the jackhammering it recieves.

I've found the cars are 100% reliable (when properly tuned) at the 500-550hp at the tires level. After that you are playing with fire....may last a month, may last 5yrs, but you aren't going to get the 150k miles+ that you would with less power. Throw new pistons and rods in the engine and you're good to go for 700+ at the tires.

was hoping 650wHP would be doable for atleast 80K miles.. its a big engine 6.2L
I pushed 425wHP on my 2.4L 4cyl for 70K miles with no problem.. only reason went then was a vacumm line failure causing severe overboost..
This engine is stouter then ford 4.6L definately but they should of put in a lil stronger internals knowing we all going to hook up engine..

It isn't going to blow up the first time you put your foot down (as proven by Andro), but everytime you use the power it takes away from the life of the engine.

Andro, have you run your car at the track yet? Should be 140mph+ with that kind of power!!
