Clear bra paint protection - can I buy pre cut pieces and DIY?

I'd like to put some clear protection on my rear 1/4 gill area and rockers only.

Can I buy those pre-cut pieces by themselves anywhere? I like to do everything myself. Anyone try to install a clear film over that gill area?
Wondering how tricky it will be to tuck that in the gills.

I've seen entire kits, but I'm not going to do the front fascia, at least for now. My main issue on all the cars I've bought over the years has been from debris from my own tires.

I'm interested too. A woman I work with also had some clear bra put on the edges of the doors, the edges of the quarter panel that meets the door, and her door knobs/handles on her challenger to protect from dings. To show me how well they worked she let me open my door onto the clear bra'd parts and nothing happened. Very cool.

FWIW - Just had mine professionally done. Will post pics when the weather finally clears up. Unusually ugly in SE AZ. Took the guy all day to install it, but it looks great with the light in the garage. Dropped it off at 0800 and he was just finishing up at 1730. And he was experienced...

I had a lot done. Entire front end, front fenders, doors and front rr quarter panels to the line, behind rear tires, mirrors, and door cups. Gills did give home some fits.

Tried to stay with body lines to hide the edges. Stayed away from the hood due to stock stripes and to avoid lines.

More than I would want to tackle on my own.

I plan on doing the same. Here are a couple of places I found that sell die cut paint protection kits for the the rockers and quarter gills. I want to get a bid from my tint guy also to see how he compares for price. I tried to talk myself into splash guards but have a hard time liking them.

The rockers and gills would be very straight forward and easy to put on. I would not recommend tackling the bumper... but the areas you are wanting should be easy to do. I have been installing film for years and always recommend you watch a video first to make sure it is something you will feel comfortable with so you dont waste youre money. There are plenty of them on youtube... do a search for clear bra install. If you have any questions PM me and I will be happy to help you out.

I self-installed a full pre-cut kit on my 2009 CTS-V last weekend. Bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors. Took about 8 hours, not a fast process. It was my first time to do an install. It looks better than the previous few jobs I've paid to have done, mostly because I'm more anal about my own car than those guys probably were. I would not recommend doing this stuff if you lack patience and detail.

As Thom suggested, watching vids of the process is a definite requirement. Flat areas without curves or indentions are very simple to do.

Here are some pics of how mine turned out. Tried to show the lines, but they are hard to seen in pics. Virtually invisible from about 3 feet. Orange peel looks a lot worse in pics vs in person.

Looks good! I can't even tell. I wonder if you'd be able to see a line with a black car....
