ECMs no longer in production?

Read in another thread that these are no longer available thru GM.
So we are collectively screwed?

I'm one bad day away from owning the sexiest paper weight on the planet?

Nah there are likely plenty of remans out there worst case scenario. I had to replace the ECU in my old grand Cherokee a couple years ago, at 21 years old it was very much out of production. I used a reman unit with no issue at all. These are just some of the pains of unfortunately owning a platform that is now 14 years from its inception. It sucks and it’s sad for all of us to see so many parts being dropped.

I haven't heard that. But there should be a pretty good salvage supply around for a long time. Just a little bit of a pain to reprogram and relearn everything. I think some of the non-camaro ones can be used, but you have to be careful to confirm.

Exactly and you can give the remaners your vin in most cases and they show up with a factory flash so it’s plug and play ready to go.

Yep, and then all you have to do is add your tune back onto it. I saw a website that sold "remans" for our Camaros, but don't remember who it was.

I picked up a refurbished ECM for my 1997 Honda Odyssey last year, getting replacement parts isn't hard at all.

Sometimes its no problem but I've run into issues with theft deterrent where the recycler claims its one thing but the car has another. Example on my 15 the key fobs stopped working the local key guy wouldn't touch and told me only the dealer can refresh the system. When he plugged into the car his software tossed up a big red flag warning continuing will disable the vehicle. The dealer had no trouble doing it but that worries me to only depend on the dealers for support.

At some point the dealers will stop being able to update there software I would think.
We will all need carburetors and some old dude in his garage to tune it.
