Anyone with a Range Afm disabler using one of these power cords for shutting power off not having to unplug range AFM? I'll try to attach link

I had to dump the Range. It triggered the loss of the electric power steering while driving. That was big time dangerous. Ever try to steer these Camaros with no power steering?

Never heard of that kind of problem when I researched them just the battery drain. Had one on my 2010 didn't have any problems. Have to see if anyone else response with troubles. Thanks for response.

FWIW
I've been using my Range Device since December of 2014 with no issues (other than forgetting to unplug it for a week once). I have not sent it in for an update, and only have about 35K miles on my car. Perhaps I've been lucky, but I also have not heard of this problem either. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Oh, it provided me with new and wonderful code fault's all the time. In all fairness, I bought it used, here, and it did not have all the updates for my model year. Allegedly. I could have sent it in for those but didn't. I just got tuned instead.

I can save you some 'potential' issues too by simply recommending a good tune. Good luck out there.

One last comment...I was still under warranty when I got the tune. The Range became so problematic - and I wanted to kill that AFM so bad, I took the chance. But as James says above, many have not had the problems I experienced.

Been doing more searching/ reviews , like you said some no problem some do. Thinking as long as I have a good extended warranty and very little town driving going to run it without AFM disabler and use paddle shifter for now.

I use a Range device on my avalanche and never unplug it, and it doesn't drain the battery! Don't know it it's different on the camaro!

I had the Range...until it started throwing codes. Sold it for $50 just to get it gone.

I use one of those switches on my because the Range would also drain my battery if it didn't get driven every week. Turn the switch off when it sits in the garage and on when I go to drive. I have had it for several years and have never had a problem.

Get it tuned out if you can. Better is replacing all the AFM garbage as it will break, and it’s not cheap. Absolute rubbish it’s on the motor to begin with.

Think that will void my extended warranty good for another 45K miles or 60 months.
