Planning to be a 5th gen owner

Hello all, I'm a long time member of www.nastyz28.com, and a long time owner of a 2nd gen Camaro. And now I'm looking to buy the new 5th gen.

I'd like some opinions on the new 5th gen.
As a note this will be my Daily driver, and will probably see some snow. So what would you recommend?

1LT, 2LT, 1SS, 2SS.
33k is an awful lot of money, and is the 2SS really worth it? Originally I was looking to get the 1LT because I figured I didn't need all the extra options and the 304HP from the V6 would be plenty. My 80Z28 now only has 250HP.

Then I started thinking, and I decided I might as well go ahead and spend the extra 3k and get the 2LT with the extra options. Which puts me just under the 1SS, which puts me just under the 2SS.

What scares me with the V8 is, its more money, gonna eat more fuel($$$), and is probably going to cost me more for insurance.

Also, what are the pros and cons to the vehicle?

Thanks in advance!

spend some quality time reading all the various threads on this forum and you will learn a lot

there is no simple answer to the question you are asking . . . I am making similar trade-offs, and I've pretty much settled on a V6 with manual transmission, not sure about trim level yet

the great thing about the V6 is that you get performance that will beat all but the highest performers from back in the day, and do it with 20-30 MPG fuel economy

I've been following this forum for about a month or so, and now I know more about these cars than 99% of the dealers I have talked with . . . do the same and you will too

This is true. Went in to my local dealer to grab a Camaro brochure for a school project the other day, had to let him pitch me the car, and corrected him on a couple points LOL

There's ALOT of knowledge to be found here

Can't speak about the SS cause I have a 2LT but you would not be dissapointed! It handles great, has all the power you need, whenever you need it, and I've been driving it in the Chicago winter and drives beautifully in the snow. I have the Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow tires so those do help. In the end though, I say get what ever makes you happiest, because at the end of the day, you're still driving a CAMARO!!!
