With the sirius xm adapter, do you just plus the factory sirius antenna into this and this to the radio? I've been thinking of updating my radio but I want the factory antenna to work for it.

No; it requires the alpine included antenna to be installed. I haven't seen a factory retention harness option.

As Shady said, you would need a siriusxm compatible aftermarket headunit to utilize the siriusxm reciever.
