FE3 to 1LE Rear Sway Bar Conversion
Hey all. To give you a little background I've had my camaro 2ss rs for 3 years now. I got it lightly modified. Suspension wise it has H&R lowering springs and I just got new tires F:20/40/265 and R:20/40/295.The car handles better with the wider tires, but I still feel a lot of body roll.
I did some research and it seems like converting the FE3 to FE4 is the way to go for a big improvement. I also heard that getting just the rear 1le / zl1 sway bar with the stock ss front is a pretty good setup (F:23mm / R:28mm). Would anyone know all the parts needed to run the rear 1le sway bar? Part numbers would be awesome too. From what I can gather I need: - FE4 rear lower control arm - FE4 rear drop links - 1le rear sway bar Anything I'm missing? Thanks in advance! |

That’s all that is required. You need the lower control arm because the end links mount further outboard. Nothing else changes. I had to remove mine to install a 15 inch conversion with BMRs extreme sway bar, that’s how I know.

Does the OEM bar come with new mounts or is that a separate part #. The aftermarket bars typically come with new mounts but I'm not sure about OEM.

OEM bars have the mounts on them, but you do have to order the links to the LCA.

BMR TCA028 or similar has provisions for both. 1st pic used BMR bar and inboard mount. 2nd pic is when I changed to outboard mount with a JPSS sway.

Hey everyone. I finally got around to swapping in the FE4 lower control arms, FE4 rear drop links, and ZL1 rear sway bar.
I knew from reading a couple threads that this would make a big difference, and this upgrade did not disappoint. It really is a night and day difference and transforms the car. Before the car would feel floaty on the road and felt like the front and rear weren't connected. Now the rear is a lot tighter and not floaty at all. I would highly recommend this upgrade. Install was pretty straight forward too. I think I might get koni shocks in the future, but for now I am happy with the setup! |

That sounds pretty cool! Good to hear it worked out for you so well, and such feedback helps others as well of course. May I ask where you were able to source the parts from? I find it near impossible to find OEM parts such as the sway bars. |
