Can the SS auto "churp" second gear?

The one I test drove must have had very sticky tires. At WOT, and going into second gear, it couldn't churp the tires. Forget about catching third. Maybe the auto transmission shifts too soft?

I would think torque management would make "chirping second" difficult.
I'm not sure though, someone with an A6 auto should be able to tell you

Ive got one and yes but first it needs to be broken in. The one you test drove probably had very few miles on it. Mine woke up after 500 miles. Last night I had a0-60 run of about 6 seconds....because I had everything(traction, stability trac)off and spun all the way through 1st and laid about 5 feet down in second. I doesnt go like that everytime but then again I usually dont try. Also ran my 0-60 w traction control on and was under 5 seconds w only a churp at the start

The biggest factor is air temperature. If its cold outside its much easier to bark the tires on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift.
The stock Perelli's don't work very well in colder air and they will spin much easier.
In warmer air, the Perelli's work really well. So its much harder to spin or bark the tires when its warm outside. During the summer everyone was complaining about not being able to spin their tires. When its 90 degrees outside the tires stick like glue.

A tune and a reduction in torque managment really increase the snap on the shifts. My car is lightly modded and tuned and I have to be really careful on the 1-2 shift not to get out of shape. That's also in 70 degree weather. When its cold (below 50 degrees or so), I won't even try to go wide open on the 1-2 shift. I've had a few scary moments flooring the gas at low speed in cooler weather.

yes, stock mine would chirp second depending on the pavement you were on and in sport shift mode at WOT. Get a tranny tune and it will easily do it.

With a tranny tune... how does it feel under normal driving? Did they tune the motor too? What kind of mods?

Just curious... I like out here in California, and it seems as though all the guys modifying new cars are back on the East coast.

I'll eventually do a full exhaust system, and CAI, and will want to get some computer work done.

Be neat to find someone out West who has extensive Camaro Dyno Tune experience!

Mine did it stock in M mode. Don't do it often though. Had a buddy with me to confirm it twice.
