Top Limit Switch? Synchronizer? Top No Opening Correctly

I have a 2013 LT2 convertible and my battery died. Immediately after replacing it the top started acting peculiar. When I press the button to open it the "stop beep" sounds and the top stops moving after a second or two. I have to bump the close button then press open again to get the top moving. It beeps and runs a second or two then stops again. It does the same thing when I close it. Beeps and stops. Beeps and stops. I did a search and saw the recommendations of lubricating the hinges and such but I don't think that's my problem. The motion is fine when it's moving but the beep as soon as I press the button seems to be related to the issue. Is there a limit switch somewhere that may be out of whack or bad? Thank you.

Oh! First Post!

Have you tried disconnecting the battery overnight? GM's computers to some strange things when the voltage gets low due to a failing battery.

Mine opens for 4 to 5 seconds then stops. I have to go back down for 1 second, then it will go back up for 4 to 5 seconds. I repeat this process 4 times to get the top completely open. So far I have no answer. There are no codes showing up.

My assumption is that it is a motion sensor that is no longer getting data to the controller.
Probably from water incursion.
I'd guess that it's a Hall Effect sensor.
I don't know where it's located.
It's strange yours showed up after only a battery disconnect.
I ignore it and just never put the top up, 'cause convertible.

It's on my list to fix, but the list of things that are 'known issues' on these 5th Gens is so long, it's low on the list.
