Slp X pipe exhaust question

Need some advice! I currently have SS MT, I have Slp LM II axle back exhaust on now. I was looking to get the X pipe assembly and keep my stock headers. My question is, is it worth it? Will the tone of my exhaust change? Performance gains? I don't think I want to tune it, for the reason that my dealer is a SOB, and don't want my warranty voided. I will probably get headers later on, will putting headers or the x pipe throw any codes? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys, and here's a link to the x pipe I think this one is it, there are two assembly though:

Not sure if this will answer your question, but from what I have read there is little performance gain on the LS3's with exhaust modification. The x-pipe may give you a bit better performance over the stock h-pipe, but may not be noticeable. The x-pipe should not throw any codes, but not sure on the headers.

May you also consider the Magnaflow x-pipe:

xpipe might give you some gian but the LT headers and high flow cat is what you really need to have.

Hey thanks for the responses guys! High flow cats? Is that something different than headers? Is that a different type of assembly that would go in between the headers and the axle back I have now?

if you get long tube headers you can buy it with it. Kooks sells there headers and cats that bolt right to the stock xpipe. i did it myself on jack stands. i did it myself so imagine how easy it is with a friends hand to help.

Yea I heard about Kooks and that they are great, I also just ran into a post of someone doing all SLP, LT's, Cat X pipe, and it sounds killer! The only thing is the setup is like 2 grand, and I have to do this in stages, so I would have to buy x pipe first, now I need to find out if I can buy them seperate. Now is it the X pipe that is catted or the headers? Sorry for the newbie questions! My first sports car! lol

I think you need to do a LOT of research into what you're wanting, what each piece is, and how it affects performance and sound. Anything that you buy for your exhaust now will likely be replaced later on with a full system, unless you plan on piecing it all together and having a shop fill in the gaps.

I wouldn't mess with it until your ready to do LT headers. The OEM pipes have an equalization H-pipe already. The main performance loss is in the factory cats so close to the heads. They have to be in that location for early fire off and effeciency thanks to greenie folks like Al Gore.

If you messed with the X pipe and cats for the stock manifolds, then going to need a different set up for when you get the LT's. I'd leave it for now.

Another plus is when you buy the header package at once, its a whole lot cheaper than a piece at a time. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58363
