freaking out! car was hit

okay sooo i was driving down my street and some lady was pulling out of her driveway and bam hits the passenger side rear wheel. it was her fault for not coming out slower and with caution since there was a hedge that doesnt let a car thats on the road see if theres a car coming out of that driveway. luckily she missed the door but everything around the wheel is smashed. sooo my question is how is the car going to get fixed. i was considering having the whole body part changed but the whole side is one piece front wheel to back. the dealers body shop should have that right?? or should i take it to like maaco and just have it straighten out?? this is my first hit like this soo idk wat to do. (i'll put pics tomorrow since it was kinda dark when she hit me)

Were the authorities notified? being as she's at fault, with that being said her insurance should pay for all repairs done to factory specs from what ever reputable shop the is in your area.

She was reversing so yes, it is her fault. (Well I'm in TX but might be diff in Cali)

As I've gone through this same process before, you basically exchange insurance information and get things in the works. Eventually the insurance company will get ahold of you (or you can always call them and get the ball rolling or just to stay informed) and will cut you a check for one of your estimates (this money can be used to fix your car or not and you can put it in your wallet for whatever), or suggest a place they've used before and cover the cost outright.

It's going to come down to what exactly needs to be fixed, and what are all the steps for making the car look like it did before.

As for what you can do in the meantime: get estimates (about 3). Edit: mine was in a private apartment parking lot as if that makes a difference.

we called but they never arrived so we settled it. i called the insurance so everything is in already im just waiting for tomorrow to call, but it's definitely her fault cus she came out fast. the thing im more worried is how it'll look after. because iv'e seen cars that get fixed and they have two wholes in them and paste and i don't want that

The last place you should take your baby to is Macco. Find a dealership with a great service / body shop rating, or a highly recommended body shop to do the repairs. Macco is where you take the $500 car to get a $299 paint job so you can sell it for $2000.

I don't know if you have them near you, but CARSTAR is an awsome place to take you vehicle in for body work. I have taken a few vehicles to them, after I got it back, the car looked like new. Never had any issues with them. But that is just my experience with them.

find a really good place just like was said above post or go to the dealer and ask them if they have any places to recommend.

Look for a place that has high end Mercedes, Jags, and other expensive cars in the "waiting repair" lot, and use them.

The couple of times I needed body work I took my cars to the only body shop in northeast ohio who can work on Audi and Jaguar aluminum bodies..... needless to say my simple cars came out spotless and perfect. Sure, it was a little bit more, but me and my insurance weren't paying for it.
