2001 Camaro V6 knocking noise

Sometimes during hard braking, or sometimes going over bumps or dips in the road, I hear a knocking noise coming from what sounds like the passenger side...maybe towards the front. On the way home just now, it actually made a grinding noise once, but then just the knocking afterwards...
I found another guy with an 01 Sebring in a different Forum with the exact same problem, and his problem was a tie-rod that was about to break....any ideas?

I just got back home, and when I went to park I noticed/ remembered that it also makes a grinding noise when backing up if the wheels are turned either way. And it is definitely coming from the front on the passenger side. I looked at everything, and everything looked normal, but I have no suspension experience, so for all I know, it could be f***ed up and I wouldn't even know, lol. I have an appt to get it aligned tomorrow, and they have to check everything to make sure it is in working order anyway, so hopefully I'll find out. But I'd still like to know, so if anyone has maybe had this same problem, input is appreciated, thanks...

UPDATE: Alright, just got back from the tire shop, both outer tie rods were shot, I got those replaced, got it aligned...remembered I forgot to tell them to rotate/ balance, so I took it back in, and they started working on it. They took all the wheels off just fine, balanced them, but when they went to re-mount, the wheels from the front, wouldn't fit on the back! WTF!?!?! The bolt patterns were the same, but the hubs were different. I have all the same size wheels, everything on the car is stock (or the stock equivalent) so why in the name of God would the hubs be different? Right now it has 16's on it, did the 01 3.8's come with a 17" option? And if so, would the hubs have been different?

Not to be annoying, but is anyone there?

UPDATE: Since no one is posting on this, I thought I'd list my progress just in case anyone else has the same issue...

Ok, one of my noises is the exhaust. The idiot that had the car before me janked up the exhaust, and some of the hangars are missing, so it is currently banging against the rear end. I'm getting that fixed Tuesday (I'll post prices when I find out)

Another noise, is the upper panhard rod bushing is worn out and it is also banging about. So I just ordered the Hotchkis adjustable Rod off Summit Racing for 130 plus shipping. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HSS-1501R/

Once I get these things fixed, if there are any other random noises, I'll post progress again
