Tire size
Hi all! Looking for opinions. Im upgrading with new wheels and tires but I'm torn on the tire size. For reference, 20x10 and 20x11 wheels. I have a 2015 auto. I want to fill the horrendous fender gap.
I'm thinking of 315/35 in the back but not sure about the front. Will a 275/40 in the front sit flush with the fender or will it still not be filled? I was also thinking of a 285/40 but it's slightly taller so not sure how that would look.

305/35/20 out back & 285/35/20 up front is what I'd do on those size wheels.

Careful with the width on the front tires. I put 255s in the front and it was rubbing on my coilovers.

So do your research, and understand what has worked for C5 members based on actual selections and usages. I spent a good deal of time analyzing the correct offset to ensure the widest 315 tire and Custom Wheel would not cause me issues on a stock suspension. Stance is everything for visual impact. Generally a "2 finger" tire to W/Well gap looks good, and the tire should not stick out from the fender lip. You can always lower your ride, via Lowering Springs or C/O's, but resorting to spacers means you did not get Wheel Dimensions and Tire selections correct. I was grateful I had no interference on my selection, but realize I may need to lower the car after final assembly to get proper fender gap. Better that than spacers, or eating non returnable high $$ wheels with max 315's tires. |
