1970 El Camino build
Hi there...just wanted to throw this out for anyone interested, building a 70 El Camino with the heart and soul from a 2014 Camaro SS. At some point, I will have all the parts stripped off the Camaro and will list what's left.
Thanks, Gary https://www.youtube.com/@letsgetdirtygarage6197 |

interesting. got a 72 here that we ls1 swapped a little over 10 years ago. i've been looking at upgrading several things in the near future. the old tired ls1 currently has ported 243s, btr cam, tbss manifold, 95 mm tb and long tube headers. i had a hell of a time finding swap headers that actually fit. a body chevelle & el camino offer different fitment regarding the firewall and steering components to name a couple. be sure to vet any specific swap parts before you buy them.
the old truck also has ls1 f body front brakes, 3rd gen f body rear disc, 12 bolt 373 geared stock style moser with truetrac, yank ss 4k converter and level 5? rpm 4L60. i really want to gen v swap this thing but the auto trans are huge and the truck will accept a gen iv setup so much easier. i took that pic a couple weeks ago. that truck has basically looked and mechanically been the same since 2013. same engine, wheels etc. got the drop spindles in 2017. it is time for a full revamp. lsx swap parts for that rig have come a LONG way since we started in 2012. once i get my gen v c4 done i'll be starting on the truck.
