If you believe GM will build a GEN 7 ICE Camaro, Read This

Just saw an interview on Fox today. The Biden-Harris administration has promised to GM that they'd pledge 500 million to the cost of converting the Lansing Plant into a TOTAL electric auto manufacturing facility.
So if you believe that a Gen 7 Camaro will be ICE or even a hybrid, then you believe the moon is made of green cheese.
Anyone want to take bets that another plant will be retooled to make an ICE Gen 7 ?

I think the last ten years will be thought of as ten years that brought us some of the greatest performance vehicles of all times. But yea, those days are over for a while.

When the Mustang came back with the 5.0 in 2011 that’s when the muscle car wars started imho. We also got the hemi 6.4 that year. It was a great time to be able to purchase a v8 pony car from 2010-2024. We also had during that time period 650+ HP Camaros/Mustangs/Challengers in the top of the lineup. These cars were absolute bargains when they came out. Prices then crept up a bit in the 2020’s on the piny cars. Still bargains compared to the competition but the vehicles started to creep out of the budgets of a lot of people.

Right now it’s a good time to be a hot hatch enthusiast. I wish I was one because in the last 10 years we’ve had fiesta/focus St’s and RS’s there’s a 12 second golf R, the civic type R somehow made front wheel drive fun and now we have the awd Gr Corolla to replace the death of the Subaru sti. Manufactures and dealers are currently killing this market by making low supply and adding mark up. It’s a shame. Not even a hot hatch enthusiast but feel bad for people that want them.

I hope there’s another muscle car renaissance because I would love to see competition for the Mustang. It also would be nice the see high supply again so we can get 15%+ off msrp again. We can get off msrp a bit on Mustangs and C8’s now but I think it’s due to how much manufacturers increased the prices and now people can’t buy them. It sucks to be a car enthusiast right now if you want something new unless you really like the C8.

I’m not holding my breath on any of the things I hope for. Maybe we’ll eventually see more incentives and lower prices since cars have been rotting on lots but idk dealers are pretty stubborn and would rather lose more money at auction than give a good deal to an actual customer.

2010-2025+ they are still making the 5.0 in the 2025 model as we speak.

I said 2011 specifically cause in 2010 Camaro was just king. It was quicker than the 6.1 Challenger and 4.6 Mustang. Once the 5.0 came out and the challenger got the 6.4 all 3 of them got fast/quick and the battle for supremacy started.

The Camaro has existed as a 2 door coupe with available V8 for the entirety of it's near 60 year life. Hopefully that won't change! With that being said, the market for 2 door coupes is virtually non existent. Go look at what is available. I think the only American coupes in production are Mustang and Corvette. GM is in business to make money. An ICE Camaro is not profitable.

Mustang laid the ground work for using a legendary name attached to an EV sedan. I have not heard Chrysler is planning an EV Challenger yet, but it wouldn't surprise me. I can only hope GM does not denigrate the Camaro name by attaching it to an EV.

Ford has a business case for building the ICE Mustang because they are the only product remaining in a dwindling market segment. They should be good for a few years.

I'm guessing GM regrets the move to all-EV (except for trucks) right now.

6th Gen Camaro is still better than the S650 and GM is still making the Alpha chassis Caddies. Discontinuing the Camaro seems like a horrible decision. IDK WTF they were thinking.

They were thinking it doesn't sell well compared to other models and doesn't have the profit margin of a Cadillac or Corvette. https://investor.gm.com/static-files...7-fa478654e9e7

well, IF Trump gets in all that EV crap will disappear. politics is such a shitshow - so we'll just have to wait and see... a hybrid would be a cool option to have along with traditional ICE. not holding my breath though.

Even more incredible, there are people who deny that the government is forcing electric cars on us. THATS even more delusional!

I predict GM is going bankrupt or being sold off within 10 years. I'm not buying any more of their cars and have zero interest in any electric car.

I think manufactures are too deep financially chasing the forced EV platform to turn back. All of the big three and panicing in regards to EV failing in every market, but too deep to revert back to ICE. They should have left the EV to Musk at Tesla as he has the market covered and everyone else is just playing a piss poor game of catchup.
