Rough start on cold mornings
I have a 2011 v6 having issues starting in the cold. Last winter i had this issue but my car wouldnt start at all, once it started getting warmer (I live in AZ) the issue went away. We just had our first couple mornings at 60 degrees and now my car is acting up again. It will start but as soon as it turns over my rpms shoot up and down dramatically and it sounds like there is something bouncing around and hitting the walls inside my cold air intake. It sounds like a really loud popcorn machine. I took off everything just to make sure there was not anything inside of it and nope everything was normal. I also clean my MAF sensor just since i was already in there. The surging will get to the point of almost stalling but will keep its self on. After maybe half a minute the rpms will go to normal and the car will run fine all day no matter how many times i turn it off and start it again. Then the next morning it does it all over again. I had a P0496 code which i think was related to my purge valve because i was having a fuel issue and once i replaced it that problem went away. I have a couple of misfires, cylinders 1 and 3. Those are the only codes showing right now. Very weird issue but if anyone has any insight of what i can check or do i would appreciate it. Thanks!

Rpm’s jumping up and down is usually a vacuum leak. Check all your hoses for any cracks or damage.
