Clutch pedal staying down after high revs

Ive been running in my engine recently so have only just started revving past 6K, damn Ive missed it.

Its developed a weird problem where WOT past 6K makes the clutch pedal either go solid or gets firmer before drops to the floor after 2-3 hard gearchanges.
If you back off it goes back to normal after a minute or two but will do the same for any more action past 6K. Not ideal if youre trying to race a Tesla and an SL63

The previous owner fitted a clutch bleed that comes up into the engine bay so Im guessing its not unknown, however when we bled it there was nothing other than fluid in there.
Car is running +150hp over standard, is it likely an issue with the fluid or could it be something else?

Hey Docwra,

Having lived in Cambridge UK myself before relocating to California, a Z28 in the England must turn many heads.

Unfortunately I had the same problem, after changing and trying a myriad of parts including the clutch pedal assembly and a stronger return spring the only thing that solved it was a new clutch, slave cylinder and flywheel. Upon inspection the removed clutch and flywheel were fine.

Apparently since the clutch fluid reservoir is shared with the brake fluid reservoir the slave can get contaminated.

The aftermarket bleeder you have is to try to prevent it.

Update in case anyone has the same problem - spoke to my engine builder, he reckoned he had only seen this kind of thing on tuned LS7s with worn clutches and advised uprating to this: https://monsterclutches.com/product/...-clutch-gen-5/

Fitted last week and seems to have done the trick, its slightly more grabby than standard but still very light considering the power rating, I have a few trackdays booked so hopefully its sorted the problem

Which Trackdays have you booked? A Z28 in the UK must be an odd sight indeed!

2 days at Spa and a day at Nordschliefe in late October, I did Spa, Nur and Zandvoort last time I took it out, it was amazing

Apparently there are 7 or 8 Z28's in UK, there are a few more ZLs but youre right, you dont see many on a trackday

My SS has done the same thing before when launching from a dig. I think my problem was letting the clutch out too slowly though.
