Service Stabilitrak (yep I said it)
I know this has been discussed to death and yes I have done alot of searching both here and the general internet. But I am having no luck finding the issue.
Let me start by saying, this a on the heals of a new motor transplant from Jennetty Racing (that I installed). New GM LS3 with GM heads with my Whipple SC. New cam, Kooks headers with green cats, LT1 fuel pump, new injectors, plugs, wires, sensors, monster stage 2 clutch and new accessories (WP, Alt, wires, hoses, engine wiring harness, etc) and JRE tune via email file. It's basically a new car (except the 6-speeed trans). First start up was great, no issues. Drove very carefully (nothing over 3k RPMS) for about 2 miles, all good. Next start up was great and drove about 5 miles carefully, all good. 3rd start up was again great, drove to the end of the driveway and SERVICE STABILITRAK came on and the 3 traction control lights on the tach side. Still I took it for another careful drive for about 10 miles and all good. No check engine light, everything working (like spedo and tach). Pulled codes.... nothing! Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly apricated. |

How long did the car sit before you drove it around? Most of the time the battery is the culprit with it possibly being low. I would check the battery charge, and maybe put it on a charger for a bit. Just a suggestion as these car freak out some when the battery is low. Good luck.

low battery voltage can cause the stabilitrac warnings. I pull the nanny fuses at the track and that sets them off too.
I think you might need a scanner that reads ABS codes to see any codes associated with an ABS issue.

Are the lights on and message showing still? If so you need a scanner capable of pulling EBCM(Electronic brake control module) codes which are C codes. A generic code reader generally only reads (P) Powertrain codes. If you can provide a code or codes it would help a lot to get you some diagnostic information and advice.

Hi all. The battery is only 2 years old and during the 2 month engine transplant project I had it disconnected and on a charger. It’s reading 12.7 resting.
My scanner is advanced. It’s AutoEnginuity and I purchased the GM enhanced license. I’m pretty sure it reads ABS codes, but I’ll double check. Any chance the rough idle of the new CAM is setting it off? It’s strange that it starts with no warning/lights but as soon as it drives down the driveway they come on. And no CEL. THANKS FOR YOUR THOUGHTS! |

The EBCM does its preliminary checks then when you start moving it monitors the WSS MPH data and will give a message or abs/trac light if it sees an issues. No check engine light will set for ABS/Trac problems

ABS sensors are at the wheels and not sensitive to vibration. Did you stretch any sensor wires? I have a pretty lumpy cam and did not see this.

Been busy at work but today I finally had a chance to hook up the laptop and check for codes. The following categories and codes came up….
ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE - U0126 Lost Communication with Steering Angle Sensor MULTI AXIS ACCELERATION SENSOR MODULE - U0121 Lost Communication with Anti Lock System STEERING WHEEL ANGLE SENSOR MODULE - C056D Electronic Control Unit Hardware - U0710 Steering Wheel Angle Signal I feel like I missed plugging something in. Again, every time I start the car no lights. The second I start driving the 3 traction lights on the tach come on. No CEL. Any suggestions what this might be. Thanks so much for your thoughts! |

Look at connector X104 which is below the brake booster. Its a 42 cavity connector, Down on frame rail area, I'm thinking that there's no "wake up" signal for the EBCM(Electronic brake control module) because of a bad connection. Seen it, Worth wiggling and/or disconnecting to check for corrosion etc... you could die-electrical grease the female side of the connector and re-connect. GL

The mystery continues….
I did check the connections suggested. They look clean and like new. I have been driving the car to break in the new motor. Every time I start it up no lights. The second I start to roll out of the garage those 3 TC lights come on. Stop for gas. Start the car back up, no lights, then pull out and on they come. My wife calls them my Christmas lights! So yesterday I took the car to work. 40 miles to and then back. Same thing with the lights as usual. EXCEPT….. I stopped at the store on the way home. Started the car, no lights as usual. Started driving, no lights! About 5 miles to the house and no lights! It’s a Christmas miracle! Pull up to the house, throw it in reverse and start backing into the driveway….. BAM lights come on! New battery, new grounds, connection all checked. I am at a total loss. After the holidays I guess it’s off to the dealer for their thoughts. Say tunned…….. |

Just wanted to provide an update. I’ve done no further diagnostic work. I did replace my 2 year old ACDELCO battery and strangely it seems to have made a difference….. maybe!
So after the battery replacement the lights have seemed to have disappeared. I took the car out 3 times and the lights or Service Stability Link message has not come on. BUT WAIT….. the 4th drive, all good up to going through my local roundabout. With the aggressive cam, it can be difficult at times to engage a smooth start from a stop in 1st gear. So I pull into the circle, trying to ease on in, and the car starts to buck a little. I work to smooth it out, it gets kinda ugly and then……. Yep, the lights and message pop up. Of course next drive all is clear and good. So for me I am wondering if the CAM. Ay have something to do with it. I am planning to get the car up to JRE in the next month to dyno/test the new set up, so will discuss with them. Stay tuned…… |

Whenever changing the cam size you should always have the tune checked and adjusted before replacing other parts after a swap. That might have been the issue the whole time. But if that’s not it, seeing those Christmas tree lights would bug me too. The Christmas tree lights happened for me 3 years ago, but when mine did it my tach and everything stopped working and the only thing that would register was speed. My car wanted to almost die when taking off or between shifts (M6) It was because not only was my battery shit, but I needed an extra ground. I replaced the battery with a gel battery and did the extra ground and haven’t had an issue since.
